Description
Throwing star I made to try out some simple forging processes when I was bored and had only a small amount of time to mess around left in the day. It works and there is something so satisfying with the thunk it provides as it imbeds itself into the wood. Just one thought I had on how to forge one.

There is something about a knife or shaken when it hits, that just feels right.
Try a piece of 1inch wide by 1/4inch thick by about 8inches long, slit up to within an inch or so of the center from each end with a chisel (hot) or bandsaw (cold) bend into star shape hammer flat, taper the arms(draw out) and work harden the points and you'll have one that looks and feels like some of the 'old' ones. No need to grind edges either.
Try it you'll like it.
